DAY 1

 

9:30 am  - Provision of the van to our partner in Mérignac

Rental is subject to acceptance of the rental conditions of our partner. The hirer must be of legal age and at least 21 years old and have held a driving licence for at least 2 years.

10:30 am - Appointments at Saint-Emilion - Free parking at the Guadet car park

 

11:00 am - Visit to the Cordeliers - picnic on site

Dive into the history of the medieval city of Saint-Émilion by visiting one of its most picturesque monuments: the Cordeliers cloister. Listed as a Historical Monument, this relic of architecture dating in the Romanesque, Gothic and Modern style is full of history.

Then, go down the galleries to the 17 metre deep underground caves to understand the traditional method of preparation of the Cordeliers' sparkling wines.

Then share a basket of local products.  

 

2:30 pm - Tour of the underground monuments

During this tour, immerse yourself in the ancient pilgrimage site! From the legend of Emilion to the digging of the largest underground church in Europe, your guide will also take you to the catacombs, not to mention the Chapelle de la Trinité and its superb 14th century paintings.


The visit summarises the medieval history through 4 monuments.

 

4:30 pm - Visit and tasting at a family wine estate

The winegrower welcomes you and shows you around his estate: vines, cellar, vat room. In his company, discover the different stages in the making of a Saint-Emilion wine in Saint-Emilion, tasting of 2 wines.

 

Overnight stay in the heart of the vineyard in this property  

The overnight stay includes occupancy, water and toilet.

A bottle of Saint-Emilion Grand Crus will be offered to you.

 

DAY 2

 

9:00 am - Breakfast : basket at your disposal in a bakery of Saint-Emilion

Breakfast includes one chocolatine or croissant or raisin bread per person and one hot drink or fruit juice.

 

11:30 am - Visit of a certified organic agriculture property - picnic on site

Departure for a family estate in Saint-Émilion. The winegrower welcomes you and shows you around his estate: vines, cellar, vat room. In his company, discover the different stages in the making of a Saint-Emilion wine.

Then share a lunch with him and discover 3 wines from the estate. We offer a varied picnic lunch

The picnic includes: oriental tabbouleh, sausage, duck rillette and gherkins, a cherry tomato and Bayonne ham skewer, a camembert, 2 mini cannelés, 3 Saint-Emilion macaroons, fruits.

 

3:00 pm - Wine and chocolate tasting

From the plot to the cellar, the focus is on the stages of transformation of the grape into wine and the impact on the aromas, textures and flavours. You will (re)discover the notions of terroir, blending and grand cru. In our tasting room, we then invite you to discover the stages of transformation of the cocoa bean into chocolate, through images and the tasting of beans. The parallels with the vine and wine are revealed!

Taste the original and blended chocolate palets, learn to describe their aromas, textures and flavours, before moving on to the tasting of wines, from white to red. Test pairings, oppositions and balances to determine your best chocolate/wine combination. Finally, taste Maëlig's wonderful creations in perfect harmony with the wines.

6:30 pm - Setting up the van in a vineyard to spend the night

 

7:00 pm - Charcuterie and cheese board to share

DAY 3

 

Breakfast in a wine estate

 

10:00 am - Return to Saint-Emilion, electric bikes at your disposal by our partner

 

10:30 am - Discovery ride in the vineyard by electric bike

Follow a self-guided tour to discover the combes, characteristic landscapes of the Saint-Emilion vineyard. It is moreover this unique viticultural whole which was registered in 1999 in the World heritage of the Humanity by UNESCO. During the walk, you will discover exceptional sites.

 

11:30 am- Visit of a wine estate - picnic on site

Departure for a family estate in Saint-Émilion. The winegrower welcomes you and shows you around his estate: vines, cellar, vat room. In his company, discover the different stages in the making of a Saint-Emilion wine.

 

2:00 pm – Continuation of the stroll

 

4:00 pm - Return to the village, retrun of the electric bikes to our partner

 

6:00 pm- Return of the van to our partner in Mérignac
