The Transports en Nouvelle Aquitaine bus company offers regular transfers between Bordeaux, Libourne, Saint-Émilion and the surrounding villages of the Saint-Émilionnais.

In high season, the Transports en Nouvelle Aquitaine bus stops at a 100 meter-walk from the village center.

All year round, the Transports en Nouvelle Aquitaine bus stops at Libourne 7 km from Saint-Émilion.
You can then contact a taxi service to come to the medieval city.

By train

The SNCF offers regular transfers between Bordeaux, Libourne and Saint-Emilion.

TGV Bordeaux - Paris with a stop in Libourne

By TGV, you enjoy the new high-speed line connecting Bordeaux to Paris in 2h30. One of the stops on the line is in Libourne (the train station is at 7 km from Saint-Emilion). More than 33 daily round trips between Paris and Bordeaux are insured from which 18.5 are direct.

You then have 3 options to get to downtown Saint-Émilion:

  • A small walk of about twenty minutes from the station. We point out that the access road has sidewalks on only a part of the way. Besides, the path leading to the village is sloping. See the recommended walking route
  • Ecoexcursions on (+33)7.49.77.76.72. The shuttle costs 4€ per person.
  • A tuk-tuk shuttle by Les Cordeliers on (+33)6.40.83.62.60. The shuttle costs 5€ per seat.
  • A short ride by taxi or a private tourism vehicle with a driver. This service is of course reserved in advance. You will find the list of our partners here


Good to know:

  • Bring enough water for your needs, as there are no water points at the station.
  • Bring €0.50 coins to use the public toilets, on the left as you leave the station.

By camping-car

Your arrival :

  • If you arrive from the top of the village, coming from Libourne on the D243, at the roundabout turn left onto the D122 towards Montagne, then take the first left onto Rue du Grand Pontet.
  • If you arrive from the bottom of the village via the D122 coming from the D670, you can park in the car park at the Saint-Emilion train station. This car park is located 1.5km from the village centre. The rest of the journey will take about 25 minutes on foot (see village map).


The car park :

  • Parking for camper vans is possible throughout the whole of the Guadet park. It is also possible to stay overnight. Parking is free but there is no service available.
  • Parking is possible at the train station. Paying toilets are available. Parking is free but there is no service available.

Libourne - Les Artigues de Lussac Aerodrome

15 km from the medieval city, the airfield at Les Artigues de Lussac is open to public air traffic.
Co-pilot platforms and business aviation companies offer services from airports in France and Europe.

Another alternative for getting to the village from the station:

Tuk-Tuk des Cordeliers on 06 40 83 62 60 for a transfer. The cost is €5 per person.

In addition to the car parks in the village, there are several free and paying car parks where you can park easily.

As the number of parking spaces is limited, you can park your vehicle in the free car parks (Gendarmerie car park) and the pay car parks (car park around the collegiate church at the top of the village and Place Bouqueyre at the bottom of the town).
For paying car parks: from 9am to 12pm and from 2pm to 7pm for 5 hours maximum, 2€/hour)

For coaches, there are two areas to park vehicles: the first is at the Villemaurine parking lot (top of the town -€20 for 9H00), the second in front of the train station (lower town, about 1.5km from the village).

There are several places of charge in Saint-Emilion.

All the communal terminals are managed by the SDEEG (Gironde Departmental Electrical Energy Syndicate). They all have the same format: 2 vehicles can be charged at each bollard.

With a MObiVE annual subscription formula, the charging rates are 2€ to connect to the socket, with one hour of free charging. From 6am to 11pm the extra minute costs €0.03.
From 11pm to 6am the extra minute is free.

  • Villemaurine car park: located near the Place Bourgeoise, arriving from the departmental road 243. 20€ per vehicle per day, every day (Sundays and public holidays included) up to 9 hours parking and 50€ for 10 hours. 10 hours being the maximum authorised. 18 spaces available.


  • Station car park: located 1.5 km south of the village, arriving via the D670.
