Château Dassault

Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Grand Cru Classé

Château Dassault

The Dassault family, passionate pioneers in the aeronautics industry, in new technologies and the art markets, became interested in great wines at a very early stage.

In 1955, Marcel Dassault, a visionary captain of industry, acquired Château Couperie, having fallen in love with it at first sight. He changed the estate’s name to his own and devoted all his energies to making it a prestigious Grand Cru.

Vintage after vintage, the quality of its wines increased; and in 1969 Château Dassault was awarded the rank of Grand Cru Classé, confirming its true dimension.

Passing on the highest standards necessary for the ageing of great wine is the ultimate aim and mission of "Dassault Wine Estates" which was created by the Dassault family to meet the increasing demand for high quality wine across the world.
Fine wine is an art of living, a cultural heritage value and a sign of excellence. The values that have underpinned the outstanding successes and enduring qualities of French savoir-faire are importantly also those of the production of great wine.
The entrepreneurial qualities of passion, progress and the permanent quest for excellence, the hallmarks of the Dassault family, are applied to all the wine-growing activities of the group.

The Dassault Wine Estates properties have expanded over the years to cover over sixty hectares of vines and make up today one of the greatest wine-growing concerns in Saint-Emilion.
