This hilly 17-kilometre route crosses the vineyards of the Castillon - Côtes de Bordeaux appellation. Over hill and dale, in 1 hour 45 minutes, you'll discover some lovely vineyard views over the communes of Saint-Genès-de-Castillon, Belvès-de-Castillon, Gardegan-et-Tourtirac and Saint-Philippe-d'Aiguille.
The stages
Leave the car park next to the restaurant and head right towards Castillon.
Turn right towards Sainte-Colombe.
On leaving St-Genès, continue straight on, following the signs for the town hall and school.
After the Ste-Colombe sign, turn left towards
towards Le Rey - Branque.
At the next junction, turn right towards Branque. Go downhill and then straight up.
At the give-way at the top of the hill, turn left. Watch out for traffic.
Leave the D17 after 200 metres and turn right towards Belvès.
Go through the town of Belvès and continue towards Francs on the D119
Continue on the D119 towards Gardegan and Francs.
After a long descent, climb up past the golf course on your left.
At the top of the hill, continue straight ahead on the D119 towards Francs, leaving Gardegan on your left.
After the descent, the road goes to the left. Go up and you will find access to the Côteau de Pey Landry on your left.
At the crossroads at the top of the hill, turn left and follow Le Pin and Renier.
Continue up the main road, which leads off to the left.
At the crossroads at the top of the hill, turn left into the main road and continue uphill.
Continue straight ahead on the main road, passing the water tower and aerial on your right.
At the stop sign, turn left onto the D123 towards St-Philippe-d'Aiguille.
Go straight through the village of St-Philippe, past the church and the town hall.
After the speed bump, turn right towards Vernon, Le Sac.
At Château Vernon, turn left.
At the crow's feet, take the road on the right. Continue along this road as far as St-Genès.
Continue straight on to St-Genès.
At the stop sign, cross carefully to the car park.
