Frédéric BOUTOULLE – De la charte de Falaise aux premiers registres de la Jurade. Éclairages sur le fonds d'archives communales de Saint-Émilion au Moyen Âge.

Professor of medieval history (Bordeaux Montaigne University, France), member of the UMR Ausonius (Bordeaux Montaigne University, CNRS, Ministry of Culture). Frédéric Boutoulle's research focuses on societies and the organisation of power in the Middle Ages (10th-14th centuries), mainly in the area dominated by the Plantagenet dynasty and south-west France.

The archives of the commune of Saint-Émilion, recently deposited with the Gironde departmental archives, contain a large number of medieval documents of great historical interest, mainly from the chancellery of the Kings of England or from the commune itself. Given the disappearance of the archives of the canons of the collegiate church, the commune's archives are essential to the study of Saint-Émilion in the Middle Ages.
