SAINT-ÉMILION, A VILLAGE FILLED WITH HISTORY AND WELL-KEEPED SECRETS
Known over the world for its great wines, Saint-Émilion is much more than just a name on a label. It's a thousand-year-old town, founded by a Breton monk.
Among its treasures is a unique monolithic church, carved entirely out of the rock. There are only two of these in Europe. Beneath the city, miles of underground galleries, dug to build Bordeaux, form a veritable historical labyrinth.
And what about the famous Saint-Émilion macaroons, made according to a recipe handed down since the 16th century, or the wines produced here, some of the most famous in the world?
This is the starting point for our Moustachus on their quest through the 22 communes of the Greater Saint-Emilion area.
