Our commitments

Welcome to the page dedicated to the commitments of the Grand Saint-Émilionnais tourist office. Our mission is to promote our magnificent region while contributing to its preservation, sustainable development and an unforgettable travel experience for our visitors. Here are our main commitments:

TOURISM FOR ALL

The Grand Saint-Emilionnais tourist office has specifically developed guided tours for disabled visitors, to enable everyone to discover the rich heritage of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Le Grand Saint-Emilionnais pour tous

Le Plan de ville accessibilité

This commitment is also reflected in the advice and awareness-raising provided to members and partners wishing to obtain the "Tourism & Handicap" label. These are sometimes simple actions that help to facilitate access to holidays and leisure activities for people with disabilities.

THE LABEL “QUALITÉ TOURISME”: A GUARANTEE OF EXCELLENCE

Quality: a history spanning more than 20 years :

In 2000, in line with the requirements of its classification, the Tourist Office embarked on the AFAQ/AFNOR NF service certification process for ‘Reception and information in Tourist Offices and Tourist Information Centres’.
In 2008, the staff began writing the quality manual and became aware of the impact of quality on the way the office is organised and run.
After two years' work, the Tourist Office was awarded the Qualité Tourisme® label in 2010 and is committed to :

  • A warm welcome
  • Attentive staff
  • Mastery of foreign languages
  • Personalised services
  • Clear and precise information
  • Cleanliness and comfort
  • Discovery of a destination
  • Feedback taken into account.

Our constantly evolving Quality approach:

With the aim of materialising the ongoing interactions between staff, service providers and customers, in 2016 the Tourist Office decided to rethink its quality approach in ‘process’ mode:

Management processes :

  • Steering
  • Quality

Implementation process :

  • Partner relations
  • Marketing
  • Reception desk
  • Shop

Support processes :

  • Human resources
  • Accounting
  • Logistics
  • Promotion and communication

Each process is based on the following cycle: plan > do > observe > analyse > improve.

On a day-to-day basis, the company operates around our ‘internal Quality site’ and the monthly monitoring of ‘Quality indicators’, which are the company's scorecard.

Quality is everyone's business!
Sandrine Capdevielle, the structure's director since 2022, is the bearer and guarantor of the quality policy. In consultation with the institutions and the Board of Directors, she draws up the general framework of the policy by defining the strategic priorities, objectives and action plan.
Working with Virginie Leu, the Tourist Office's Quality Manager, the whole team is involved in the process. Through meetings, discussions and training sessions for new arrivals, the whole team is responsible for quality at the Tourist Office.
All of this data is accessible and shared via an ‘internal’ website that gives all employees, and even more so colleagues joining the team, simple, quick and effective access to all the information on the life of the company.

As of 2022, Sustainable Development has become a priority in the Tourist Office's strategy. Following an initial action plan worked on in training with the whole team in 2020, the actions have been taken up again, enriched and shared. The result is a sustainable action plan based on three pillars:

  • Sustainable internal actions
  • Sustainable actions towards visitors
  • Sustainable actions towards partners

Environmental, social and societal commitments have been made by the members of the Board of Directors and signed by the Chairmen and Management.

THE VIGNOBLES ET DÉCOUVERTES LABEL

Launched in 2009, under the impetus of the Conseil Supérieur de l'Oenotourisme, the Vignobles & Découvertes national label aims to provide greater clarity for customers and greater visibility for the destination. It is based on existing national and local quality schemes. It is awarded by decision of the Conseil Supérieur de l'Oenotourisme for a period of three years. It is awarded to a wine destination and its tourism components (accommodation, restaurants, visits to wine châteaux, site visits, etc.).

The idea is to offer a complete range of wine tourism services to individuals or groups, with the emphasis on quality.

The Bordeaux wine region is made up of 6 areas that have been awarded the Vignobles et Découvertes label:

  • Bordeaux, porte du vignoble
  • La Route des Vins de Bordeaux en Graves et Sauternes
  • L’ Entre-deux-Mers
  • Saint-Emilion, Pomerol, Fronsac
  • Le Médoc
  • Blaye et Bourg

The Grand Saint-Emilionnais Tourist Office was awarded the label in 2015.

ACCUEIL VÉLO AND SCANDIBÉRIQUE

The Scandibérique is the French section of Eurovéloroute 3, the 5122km route linking Trondheim in Norway to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. The route crosses France from north to south over 1,700 km and is the only major route linking Paris and Bordeaux. In Gironde, the 180km route passes through the Libournais region, including Saint-Emilion, Entre-Deux-Mers, Bordeaux and the southern Gironde.
